Popular Post sirineou
Wife is a sadistic (insert word that rhymes with witch but starts with a B) I have decided to start an Intermittent fasting diet. Last meal 6 pm , no breakfast,, Lunch at 12pm ,and a snack at 3pm, which gives me 18 hrs of no food. It is now 10:24 am , 1:36 min until I eat, Wife is cooking Pho soup , the whole house smells with the sweet aroma of oxtail bones simmering in spices .Me and my stomach are having a serious disagreement and stomach is winning. I don't think I am going to make it. This post killed 2 minutes, 1:34 minutes to go. Edited November 24, 2019 by sirineou 3

Unfortunately This type of diet, if I understand it correctly, in conjunction to the caloric restriction, fasting periods between meals is also important for resetting the sugar/insulin cycle and associated processes, so consuming anything regardless of its caloric content might not be good. And wife is not helping, Aside from being an excellent Thai cook, she has just discovered YouTube and cooking videos' I am sure I get all the calories I need through osmosis , simply by smelling her cooking. She is not making it easy for me. Grrrrrr. 5
Popular Post AlexRich
I'm pretty sure in a few years intermittent fasting will be discredited ... I tried it and it did nothing for me. If you eat a healthy balanced diet all will be good. 3 1

I hate dieting and even though in my younger years was competing, always struggled to drop the weight . now in older years I found having protein shake instead of a meal in the evening drops 1-2 kg every few days. Now can go from 115kg down to 94kg in less than a month and not suffering 3

Popular Post Lacessit
Eat celery with a touch of Vegemite, and bamboo with a chili dip. Zero calories, and tasty. It's not your wife's fault if she doesn't understand your obsessions. You remind me of the encounter between a sadist and a masochist. Masochist: " Are you going to whip me and degrade me?" Sadist: "No". 1
Tayaout
Go take a walk. Sport cut my appetite temporarily and study show you will burn more calorie while fasted. Intermittent fasting works for me but the body eventually adapt so I need to mix other strategies. When I eat more carbs then I feel more hungry between meals... There is a very low insuline spike with fatty food vs carbs. Proteine is in between.

That I have serious issues is certainly true but calling my wife names is not one of them , we have a great relationship and engage in frequent and satisfying, hallway sex. In case some of you are not familiar with hallway sex, that where whenever we pass each other in the hallway she greets me with "F you , you lazy bum" to which I reply "Screw you you nasty witch ( in this post remember to replace all Ws with Bs"). And then she threatens to kick my walls !! Edited November 24, 2019 by sirineou 1 1

Don't really need to lose weight just like to feel better and live long enough to inherit all my rich relatives. Unfortunately the link you send me will not allow me to read the article unless I subscribe, gut I have read and watched a few seminars and documentaries on Youtube. It's a very interesting subject. Moonlover
She's just testing your resolve. Have you got what it takes to go through with this? I've practiced I. F. for a long time now, but only for 12 hours, 6pm to 6am. (but it's usually around 7am) and I'm very comfortable with it. But because of the Thai habit of eating late I often have to endure watching whilst they eat. My wife uses the the standard excuse of 'too spicy for him' on my behalf. Hey, if the food smells are getting to you, go for a walk. That's a healthy thing to do as well. Good luck with your endeavours. 1

Popular Post canuckamuck
I have tried everything in the last year, Everything works for a while it seems. My method is now to just try something else when the first diet plateaus. Intermittent fasting is really good. But it also plateaus. this can be fixed with a few days of regular meals. But not big meals. My theory now is. You can't beat the simple formula of not eating to be full, but eat a certain amount all the time and stay hydrated. Avoid sweets and sugars as much as possible. Eating to be full is a mistake. You should teach yourself that the full feeling is a sign you ate too much. Hunger usually goes away within 20 minutes of any meal, if you are hydrated. I lost 30 kg this year. No additional exercise but I am fairly active. Edited November 25, 2019 by canuckamuck

Popular Post Saltire
Stick at the intermittent fasting, it helps to kickstart weightloss after a plateau. I eat from 10 AM til 4 PM and only tea and water outside this time. Every now and again I do a 24 hour from 4 PM to 4 PM. I have been on low carb, high fat lifestyle (it is not a diet), for almost 2 years. As a type 2 diabetic I am now med-free and have lost 22Kg (almost 50 lbs) and my fasting glucose level is in the normal non-diabetic range. Intermittent fasting also allows many major organs to recover from unhealthy eatiing. Eating too often can keep your internals working too hard. I do have the same problem with my wife's aromas in the kitchen, but once you are off the main carbs (rice, bread, noodles, potatoes etc) for a while, hunger is not a problem. I find for me kicking sugar is harder than cutting carbs. Good luck with your goal.

It simply following the bodies natural rhythms. Before the days of artificial lighting, mankind would eat before sunset, then snuggle down for the night, not eating again until sun-up. (which is why breakfast is so named) The digestive system slows down at night so it is better to have digested ones last meal before retiring. Since I've adopted the 12 hour routine, my sleep is much improved as I'm not in any way blotted with my last meal. Basically, I eat anything I want.... It's pretty easy to get used to....
