And what happens when it rains ?

I can see them using the British Rail Book of Good Excuses:

Pattaya Trams apologise for the non running of trams today due to the wrong sort of rain.

or even: leaves, tourists, baht buses on the track.

Bingo.

Balckwater sewage continues to drain directly onto the beaches/sea, and yet they think a tram is what people want.

less traffic, less accidents, more convenience promised...and of course, you'll hardly notice it being built.........

Ah, we're going to have public toilets at last!

Give it to the SRT to operate.

Then you know it will not work

Has anyone actually seen any plans or drawings for this project?

I remember the ticket price is expensive, passengers will complain later.

HA HA HA Ha!!!! Moron's are littering the landscape. Maybe, the boys in brown could do a little better job of traffic control--like any at all. Maybe they could step out of their little boxes and look down the street sometimes to see how far the traffic is flowing. Of course, this is Pattaya so don't count on it.

Reminds me of The Simpsons mono rail episode!!!

Why don't they start talking about a casino at the Ambassador again???

too hot and smelly and what about the stupid taxis? they wont deal with it.

would it be free like main street melbourne or ridiculously priced and look like the old busses in a year?

not very culturally correct if you ask me...

In addition to the above statement which is quite correct; additionally, this tram service still will not get rid of one the main problems which is the Chinese tourist coaches blocking everywhere and creating havoc.....!!!!

The solution to this real problem is pretty easy (And works already in a lot of europeans cities)

when the tram is in function create big free parking lots for coaches near the

tram terminus outside of the city, then prohibit access to the city center to

ALL coaches (With big fines and real enforcement)

problem solved

Ha ha ha! Sorry to laugh, but you're using ferang logic there - especially with the phrase 'real enforcement'.

Not true. (Except the few occasions of Pattaya fully flooded )

I wonder how long it would be for the first car/tram accident to happen?

"promised"

Where are they going to park the cars that will not be able transit in pattaya

The Tram Line may work if the carriages are designed in such a way that they actually float.

Sat on 3rd road last evening having a nice pork steak. About 6:30pm.

No less than 172 tourist buses all appear to be Chinese from the signs.

In say 45 minutes.

I'm sure that I missed a few between mouth fulls.

Pattaya   Hub of plans

hub of plans for backhanders

They could fix the baht bus-network for that price much cheaper,  Color code it and add more routes. Tram will cause cnogestion.
