Only 26!  How could he have had adult thoughts or ethics at such a young age?

At his age I had been in the military for nearly 10 years having completed a one your tour in Bahrain and was on my second overseas tour in Singapore.

He was well brought up and well educated and is certainly smarter than many posters on TVF.

At 26 he could have been married for a few years (but wasn't). How would YOU qualify adult thoughts?

Ethics is something that grows with experience and that applies to all people and changes as you grow older.

Wasn't she guilty of a shady land deal?

No, it was a set up by the opposition at the time. What she did was perfectly legal in that she tendered for a block of land and her tender was the best by far. I think that there were 4 others and hers was the highest, lodged through a perfectly above board and legal tendering process. Thaksin was the PM at the time and because he was in this position, he had to sign off on the deal.

It does seem to hint at rehabilitation of the Shinawatra image. The vast majority of Northern rural Thais are firmly in their camp, due to remembered favors when Thaksin and Yingluck were in power.

Yes , Good people to the poor of Thailand.

Regardless of his history and misdemeanors I'd take Thaksin over Chan-ocha anyday but would take Thanathron over Thaksin.

Thanathron is the young leader of the future for when the old cronies such as Mr Tick Tock has passed on. A good young man with a business head, which is better for running a country than ex military who waste the nations money on submarines and fighter a/c.

Where should his son be then?

He is Thai, has a home and businesses here, has family here.

Better still why is kev612  in Thailand. I should think that Thaksin Jnr would have more right to be here.

But they don't think like that.

They remember that Thaksin was the first PM in Thailand to care about them and to actually DO something for them. None of the other Politicians before or since have even bothered about them.

So well explained bill766  but it appears that many here do not know this, perhaps they have only recently arrived and did not live here when Thaksin was the PM  and doing such a good job at that !

Yes he did a good job, shook up the civil service,so you could get things done

the same day, introduced universal health ,even for Farangs, helped the poor,

but I feel that turned into vote buying, he soon realised if he won Issan he

would always win elections,so he looked after them well.

Then as often happens, power corrupts, and thats what happened, extrajudicial

killings, of 2,400 alleged drug dealers/users,and the many corrupt practices

that began to occur,He started out with good intentions, but things changed.

Well the courts and the judge don't seem to agree with you.

Have you been studying the case every day, seen all the evidence that was presented? Yet you assume that he is guilty and the courts don't, or is it just your opinion.

If you think that the judge and the courts were taking bribes from him, then submit a formal complaint with all your evidence.

Perhaps they were bribed and perhaps they were not. I certainly have no idea, and if the truth be known, neither do you.

So what's the excuse for the dirty money ending up in his bank.was it just luck like some sort of lottery ticket odds.

forget about Thai courts and judges because they are joke of justice as proven in the past.

you only got to ask yourself if it was you in his shoes do you think you would be walking free now?

Of course I would.

4 billion baht buys a lot of favours and far more than a measly 10 million.
