FA sacked Sam in a panic

In today’s episode of the podcast A Pint with Eamonn and the Gaffers, Sam Allardyce says the Football Association (FA) made a ‘panic decision’ on sacking him to ‘save its reputation’.

 

Dudley-born Sam is not short of London connections. He managed both West Ham and Crystal Palace and also played for Millwall. He shared a beer with popular broadcaster Eamonn Holmes at The Gun pub close to Spitalfields Market in east London.

the  whole thing was  a set up by the telegraph.. pulling the sort of stunt you'd expect from the gutter press like the star, they did football bo favours.. and imo they  really should hold their head in shame ..  in fact they do, not long after sam resigned  I was chatting to a staff writer for them  and he thought it was awful and not something he wanted the co he worked for to be involved in..  he worked for a broad sheet not the gutter press.. and thougjt they should hold standards one relates to the type..  and report on actual news NOT covertly make stories happen. this was the english tory  press at their worst

I have tried to use the acronym FA in reference to a Mr Sweet who was a Financial Adviser for the Football Association, and got banned.

What he did was expose flaws within the system. If the FA didn't know of them they should have praised him as they could now put things right. If they knew already and did nothing then they sacked the wrong person and the Board should have stood down themselves.

Good job they sacked Big Sam or England would have gone to the 2018 World Cup launching it long to a big, strong centre forward looking to win free kicks, corners and penalties. Most of our goals would have been from set pieces. Instead .... St Gareth of Southgate .. um .. er .. did the same.
