Vietnam to allow change of visa status without leaving country

Looks like a very flexible new policy in which you can change your visa status from, say, an e-visa (basic entry) into a proper business visa and work permit in-country. But don't get too excited because it does not become effective until July 1, 2020.

The amended law is expected to make it easier for foreigners to stay in Vietnam to learn about the market and look for jobs and investment opportunities without wasting time and money on immigration procedures, according to Vo Trong Viet, chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Committee on National Defense and Security.
