Popular Post webfact Posted December 8, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 8, 2019 More Indian tourists want to visit Phuket but limited airport slots make it impossible By Pichayada Promchertchoo File photo PHUKET, Thailand: For many Indian tourists, the popular resort island of Phuket has recently become more attractive than ever before. Within four to five hours, they can now fly to the ‘Pearl of the Andaman Sea’ directly from India, without a stopover in the capital Bangkok or other countries such as Singapore or Malaysia. Since October last year, Indian low-cost air carriers have operated direct flights between Phuket and three major cities - New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. The result is a big jump in the number of Indian visitors to the popular Thai province - from about 61,000 in 2017 to more than 236,000 in the first nine months of 2019. Key players in Thailand’s tourism industry expect the number to keep surging even further as Indian airlines have expressed interest in adding more direct flights between Phuket and other Indian cities. But despite the growing demand, the island’s single-runway airport can only accommodate a limited number of direct flights between India and Phuket. Popular Post SuwadeeS Posted December 9, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2019 Hahaha. Low Budget flight Bring rich Indians to Phuket. That make sence. These are 5 tourists 1 bitte of Coke. How do they do with the Girls???? Same??? 5 1 1
Popular Post Deli Posted December 9, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2019 Wouldn't mind if they close the Airport for them. Standing in the middle of the road in groups and giving a f*** about the traffic. Like in their home country. 5 1 2
Popular Post Sydebolle Posted December 9, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2019 Just wondering, how long it will take for any of those gifted present leaders here to propose a second airport, or at least a second runway. It might coincide with the fact, that one of the very same leaders has some land on cheap offer to ease the avalanche of Indian quality tourists (who, apparently, spend B 5300/day) when ransacking Phuket - the Pearl of the Andaman! 1 1 2

Popular Post AhFarangJa Posted December 9, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2019 The headline is completely out of context regarding the original quote. It should read :- TAT Want More Indian Tourists But Airport Slots Make It Impossible.......... As for Phuket being the pearl of the Andaman............In their Dreams and memories from a looooong time ago..... 6

Isaan sailor Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 What am I missing? Phuket always too expensive for me—even with a normalized currency. So how do these Indians afford this? 2

Popular Post SuwadeeS Posted December 9, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2019 I had some business with Indians. Most stingy ever. Who ever said, they spend 5300 Baht per day, should exclude the handfull of rich Indians. Since then, I delete, block and never answer any Email from India, anymore. 3

Never heard any Indian sexually assaulting any women in other countries. What they do here is exactly the same as any westerners come here to do. Pay for sex. Also, there are for more sexual assaults happening in Western countries compared to India. Most of sex trafficking is carried out by the Western countries transporting poor girls and minors from Asia to West. Check the numbers. Don't just believe what your media shows you. 1 1

They're the highest earning ethnic group in US and other countries. They earn double than an average White person. The rising Baht didn't affect them at all. No Indian complained about it. How much they spend and how they spend is nobody's business. Thailand wants people to spend and that's it. The so called rich and high spending whites are running away from a slight increase in Baht so it's better to focus on those who are coming no matter what. 1 1

sawadeeken Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 BS is close to right.....I think this is one more 'fake news' and Thailand will awaken from this dream soon.... and sadly, as well...... 2
mlmcleod Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 It is only a 4 hour bus ride from BKK to Phuket. If that is too much time, I guess they are not motivated to go to Thailand. Sad to say but Thailand has no idea that Indian tourism is the bottom of the barrel. Of course, only the wealthy Indians are coming to Thailand. I have yet to see any in Pattaya but I am sure that the Thai tourist authorities are correct. 55555 1 1
