Many motor cycles don't have mirrors. If mirrors are fitted then the riders use them adjust their hair and squeeze their zits after parking .

good report for the road safety  exercise.police or someone watching filming.will the thais look and learn,probadly not carry on as normal

most likely she had no driver licence.. and driving oblivious to traffic around her ..as most Thai often do...

Yep ! Not even a slow down sign with ‘checkpoint ahead’, BOOM ! They just love attempting to gain the higher ground with a total disregard and lack of road safety when setting up a checkpoint.

Of course this is a tragedy and of course the truck driver must have been able to anticipate the coming together of his truck and the bike.

 

However, hands up if you saw at least one motorbike pulling out of a side road without looking or stopping today. That'll be just about all of us, then.

 

Yesterday, driving in the city and as I was turning right, the light was changing from green to red. I was perfectly positioned and was completing my manoeuvre when a woman on a bike ran the red light in front of me. I saw her and luckily she saw me and swerved but as I was still moving slowly I wouldn't have hit her. Every day, I come across a motorcyclist or several doing something stupid.

 

It is not possible to legislate for stupid but every time something like this happens, the thought that these lunatics who smash into me will demand $$$ from me makes me shiver.
