Need a surgeon - lipoma on back of neck.

Featured Replies

Judged benign several years ago.

Just noticed that it's grown in size, which is worrisome.

I know that the neck is a specialty of some surgeons and many don't deal with necks.

The pinned thread mentions a neck surgeon in Singapore.

I'm hoping there's someone with a good reputation in CM or at least in Thailand.

Go to dermatology at Chiang Mai Ram and they can most likely attend to it (minor surgery, normally) or make an appropriate referral.

+1 to that. I have had a couple of non-melanoma tumours removed from my face there, by a plastic surgeon (Dr Anan). Not from my neck, but very satisfied with the results. Thy will also send the excised tumour away for pathology analysis - to make sure it is nothing more sinister than lipoma.

I suggest Dr Vajiraporn for an initial consultation. The skin clinic is in the new building, on the moat.

Phone 053 920372 for appointments.

You could get this done almost anywhere; luckily, it’s not a major procedure at all.

Just make sure to have a biopsy sample sent to Pathology for good measure.

It sounds like what I know as a sebaceious cyst.

I have one on the back of my neck also. Form from old hair roots i think.

Had one removed from the scalp 12yrs since. Simple ten minute procedure, cut and they pop it out like a pea.

When I had my general check up last month, doctor again said yes very common just come back in after making appointment with the dermatologist...this was a Rajavej

Not the same thing.

When I 1st had it examined years ago the surgeon who had been recommended to me referred me to a surgeon with more experience with neck surgery, leading me to think that is more of a specialty, although the consensus here feels it's routine.

Yes probably right, it was a wickipedia analysis that said associated with obesity and lack of physical exercise.

So definately not the same as I have.????
