Former finance minister Korn Chatikavanij, who resigned from the Democrat Party on Wednesday, admitted Thursday night that he is in the process of forming a new political party.

He said the party, which has yet to be named, will be a springboard for him to push for changes. Speaking on Nation TV, Korn said he has been engaged in talks with a wide range of people who share his passion in doing the country a service through politics.

He said the country needs people with knowledge and capability to prepare Thailand to cope with changes.   “We don’t have enough people in the political system who are knowledgeable enough to keep up with changes,” he said.

I wonder if Abhisit will join Korn.

Odd against (would be too much of a rift and damaging to the Dems)... However old Whistleblower General will no doubt leave the monkhood for such an opportunity to stamp on democracy..

Suggestions elsewhere that this party could be the new home for FFP MPs after that parťy is dissolved on the 21st.

That would make sense. Good luck to them. I assume that would not include Thanatorn which would be a pity. Still, I would fully expect him to have some of the right ears.
