I am the first to be an angry P#$% and complain about stupid things here but I feel i need to balance it out. I <deleted> love this country, and I want to spend 5 minutes telling you why and spread some love in the forum, if you have negative feels thats cool but tell the wall in your house and fill this wall with why you love Thailand. 
 

• i love the respect you all pay to your families which is missing in Farang lands.
• I love the freedom from red tape and police state garbage that most sheep don't even know exists where I come from.
• I love the Thai people and as much as I have been the recipient of some negatives, the positives and generosity I have received in times of need outweighed it 10x .
• I love the "structure and order" that we all complain about at times (it works don't <deleted> with it) Wild west ... yes , but I dig it. The alternative is policing the nation for profit..
• I love that the internet works here in a supposed 3rd world country on my mobile 100 x faster than fixed line in my motherland.
• And most of all I love my wife. I was married for 14 years back home so have experienced both.  Thailand put something in the water that made women here harder like I imagine western ways in 50's. She uses the phrase passed by her mother that the man is like and elephant with back legs, its the woman's job to be a team and be the front legs or the elephant dies........ cue feminist rage.... I have never felt so respected and honored as I do with my wife and I pay her the same respect and work hard. Its a two way st. Look after me ill look after you and make each others live easy as possible ..... so simple but lost in our <deleted>edup society back there, it really wouldn't matter if you're male or female just supporting the bread winner is logical.  Both are equally as important. 

SO. Thank you Thailand for ultimately giving me happiness ????

It's "missing" because we have mature systems of social benefits. There's also evidence that the more mature that system (eg. in Scandinavian countries) the lower the numbers of people who have a religious world view. Everything is related; nothing exists in isolation

They are all the same , prefer to keep my personal info as seldom as possible but it wouldn't matter which English speaking western country you picked they all suffered the same fate.

I think the Catholic Church are the reason less people are religious. They where the cause of their own demise. Social benefits? My family never received benefits at all and they all treat each other like dogs.  I think it really comes from the values the parents instill in their children.

The house and the car have already been purchased?

We are getting older, the world is changing. Thailand has offered a less controlling environment, as opposed to say England or the U.S. It's refreshing and ultimately comes down to the freedom you felt when you were younger. Taking on this new adventure, in a less controlled state structure is certainly the appeal for me. Sadly, this less controlled state structure is ramping up and not just in Thailand. I often wonder about Burma now... seems like it would be the virgin territory Thailand has been?

My thai wife of 2 years just works harder than any woman i have met she brings in as much money as my business , so take your cliche and book a flight back to your wonderful land, if you want you can add why you love this country ....

Thanks, and don't worry about them, majority are cynical old dirty men. Who fell in love with a bar girl and got ripped off. They are angry because they where probably stupid enough to loose all their money and get scammed thinking a 20year old beauty wanted their sweaty ass.  Money cant buy love. So its OK they are just angry at the world until 5pm when they go to the bar. When I meet guys like this I see them broken, I just give them a hug. ????

Don't take it so bad

it's not a cliche at all, just a reality

lucky you if you are not concerned

but in most of the cases the old westerner wants a beautiful young wife/gf

and the young wife\gf wants a provider to secure her an her family, doesn't

matter the age and the physical aspect of the westerner.

There is of course few exceptions, were the 2 are in the same age\physic group

and the 2 work and put money on the table. but honestly they are rare.

In all logic if a westerner wants a wife\gf in his ''league'' he should have one at home

the same thing for the Thai girl/woman, if she wants just someone to love, she prefers

a Thai man in 99% of the cases (But they have faults plus often they are not interested

in ''second hand models'')

The Thai bar girl(s) I fell in love with were all really nice, and didn't take any more than I wanted to give.

I can't recommend bar girls highly enough, they gave me all the really great times I ever had.

 

Bar girls are the best part of Thailand IMHO.
