Foreigner steals shopkeeper's phone - they want to sell up and move after five thefts

CCTV footage from a convenience store in Tak in north western Thailand showed the moment when a foreign man grabbed a shop owner's phone and ran off.

The incident happened at 3pm on Tuesday in the store on the Mae Sot to Rim Moei Road.

The lady said that the man - who had a full beard and moustache - had come into the store and was bargaining with her in English.

He said he had no money and asked to be directed to an ATM.

After waiting in front of the store he came back and under the pretext of talking about goods he grabbed her phone and disappeared.

The couple who run the shop said that this was the fifth time they have experienced theft and they are now considering packing up and going elsewhere.

The local police have been informed.

The usual great cctv shot, i would have thought after 4 robberies they would have sorted that one out,

I somehow suspect it won't be long before this complete idiot is enjoying a lengthy free stay at the local prison. Has to have left his brains at the airport to do something so desperately stupid.

The previous 4 robberies, were they not carried out by foreigners? Were they reported in the news?

Is it reported just because it was an alleged foreigner that carried the alleged robbery?
