Popular Post eyecatcher
A few months ago I asked about how to pay a speeding fine if you sadly lose the ticket. It was last May when I was caught bang to rights for tearing down the dotted line at a sedate 114kmph in the depths of Isaan. No one had a suggestion other than it will be on record and it will arise when its tax and insurance time. Well, my paperwork was renewed a month ago and my apprehension beforehand came to nothing. No mention of it all. So a case of police paperwork incomplete, not having a national database, or just my good fortune, who knows. Popular Post DaRoadrunner
Not all LTO's have a police office, in which case you get away with it. (Roadrunner, by nature, gets tickets all the time and has never paid for one). They are using computers now, but this being Thailand I doubt all offices are interconnected. Also possible that the cop never bothered to register your ticket.
jonwilly
I got caught during my escape from CM, exceeding 90 kph, polite officer asks if I speak Thai, Nit Noy, 120kph B500, he says in good English. So I joined the queue about a dozen all Thai and most M/cyclists. There were all annoyed at being caught and having to cough up B500. When my turn came to pay B500 says the cashier, but it was only B400 last time, the entire panel had a laugh. Don't know if I will get points only time will tell. john
