PHUKET:-- The Kamala Tambon Adiministrative Office (OrBorTor) and Phuket City Municipality have both issued notices urging residents to save what water they can in the hope of making supplies last as long as possible.

Kamala OrBorTor posted its announcement yesterday (Feb 18).

“Every year, from February to May, the temperature in Phuket is high, especially in April. There is also lttle rain during this period, causing water outage problems,” explained Kamala OrBorTor Deputy Chief Nopporn Karuna.

Anyone consider the water shortage could be due to the uncontrolled development at the north end of Kamala. Nope- didn't think so. No project should be allowed to advance unless a viable infrastructure plan is submitted instead of a brown envelope.

When this massive project was 'blessed' there were senior Police, Army and other Gov't officials all in attendance- pretty sure they didn't go away empty handed.

Phuket needs a 6 month moratorium on building projects if water is in such short supply. Meanwhile the private water sources in Kamala supplying the high end hotels are full and the water trucks race through town 24/7 towards Millionaire's Mile.
