Transferwise UK

I'm looking for information regarding Transferwise Borderless Account as my wife would like to have a UK Banking facility which would enable her to transfer money UK to Thailand.    Source of money is Pension providers.   She wants the most economical way to do it and Transferwise seems to fit the bill.

However Transferwise have told her that in order to open an account she has to deposit a minimum sum in the account and that must come from her UK bank account, debit or credit card, all of which she does not have.   Bank account either single or joint is out of the question as she cannot provide proof of address from any of the acceptable avenues.

So would welcome any infor on this situation and how she might overcome it.
