Nor did I suggest such a thing.

Your defense of this poster is noted.

Why would you say this then?

"So this person should defend a position, not react to cranky posters.

In this case: "It is fine that Thais flee quarantine because..." "

To me it sounds like you are suggesting she defends people not self quarantine,

Perhaps I am wrong.

How could you be sure my Thai is so bad? And might want to check your own English. "I am sure her English are much better". Just messin with you ????

Sorry Yinn. I couldn't help myself, only meant in fun

We are not talking about my English here we are talking about Yinn's English.

Not sure of the quality of your Thai specifically , but I am sure that her English is much better than most Farang's Thai.

It is certainly much better than mine

Search underway for 80 escaping Thai workers returning from South Korea

Authorities are searching for about 80 Thais who arrived, in a group of 200 on four flights, at Suvarnabhumi international airport yesterday after returning from working illegally in South Korea. They managed to escape from a restricted area as they were about to be escorted to Sattahip naval base for COVID-19 screening prior to being quarantined.

Deputy Public Health Minister Sathit Pitutaecha did not give details of how the returnees managed to escape, but he said today that he had instructed the Disease Control Department director-general Dr. Suwanchai Wattanayingcharoenchai to find the names and addresses of the escapees from the list of all the returnees yesterday and to try to locate them, so they can enter their mandatory 14-day quarantine period. He said that all the escapees will face tough legal action in accordance with the Disease Control Act.

Airports of Thailand director Sutherrawat Suwanrat said today that there were 104 passengers, including 88 Thais, on the first flight from South Korea yesterday. 15 were found to have high fevers and were immediately sent for further tests to determine whether they are infected with COVID-19.  66 others were described as at high risk.

Hmm  people sent back from Korea for breaking the law, being illegal workers are now expected to follow the law here, be model citizens and take a 2 week time out. I don't think so.

If anything, gov should have sent a few monks over and call it a 'retreat' and that participants would "make merit'. There is no incentive to stay in quarantine. Just sit around and OMG think too much.

A lot of Thai's don't do responsibility hence the war-zone road death toll so it would come as no surprise that some returning to Thailand have done a runner .. These actions will help propagates CV19 .. Non compliance in the process needed to try and keep this in check is the signature of the selfish and irresponsible ..

It's not only Thais who are irresponsible drivers. I've seen loads of farangs copying their bad habits. Same with bribes and not learning a mutually communicable language. Hypocrisy comes to mind whenever I read people criticising Thais for what are, in fact, their own faults.

The way how the whole situation is handled is another proof of the incompetence of the thais in general and that puppies in government as the once who are responsible. They will see a downturn of the country very soon!

If you try to buck the trend in Thailand you'll eventually come a cropper.

Corruption is part of life here, and acquiescing to that is not hypocrisy, when there could be negative consequences for doing so.

Sometimes you gotta roll with the punches.

Nonsense.  There is always a straight, if less lazy and corrupt, way to go than that taken by some farangs who think their money entitles them.

It'll never happen here. They may pass a law, but it will be unenforceable. Like herding cats.

you have a point but under such circumstances who will travel to be quarantined which must be at least 14 days to be of some value.
