All visitors to Thailand require medical certificate, insurance and monitoring system

I think this is Thailand's polite way of shutting down the borders. It's going to be close to impossible for most people to get a health certificate now with healthcare systems under so much pressure. Most insurance companies won't cover covid-19 on new polities either.

Just received a reply from a private hospital in the UK and they said they will not provide medical certificates that Thailand require.

It is extremely unlikely that one will be available from a NHS doctor.

He did - here's the full quote:

"Today I visited Chiang Mai and noticed that there are almost no Chinese tourists. All you see are ‘farang’. Not only that, but 90% of Thais are wearing masks. However, none of the farang are wearing masks This is the reason our country is being infected all around. We should be more careful of the farang than Asians.”

"At the moment it is winter in Europe and farang come to Thailand to hide from the disease. Many farang dress dirty and don’t shower. As hosts we have to be very careful.”

I’m a farang and been wearing mask for a Month now lols I see so many thai people with no masks.

As for dressing dirty... my shoes alone are worth more than 1-3 months of average salary here lol. If anything I see a lot of Thais also dress dirty.

ALL Nationalities?, or the ones mentioned in the article???

I came in last Wednesday 18th March, when they start with the app.

Nobody ask me about any health CERTIFICATE or Insurance, but only that the spy app is correct installed and the passport photo was good.

That we had to wait in a tighten big group at the way upwards to the Immi counters, where everybody was checked by only one! person about the app and later another only one person who did the fever measuring. By luck there where only a few travelers, around 150.

What will they do if the count rise up in the future?

The app is a farce. It would be enough to have an app to get informed if in my flight someone got symptoms and they would send out messages about. So, I can go and take even more care. For what they need my GPS? On the web government web site house arrest is only necessary for a few countries, travelers come from.

At the airport they say now everybody.

I anyway do the house arrest on my own and also longer than the 2 weeks just for the minimum necessaries for buying food and cook at home. I don't want get infected from the people outside, Khun Anutin.

In my house I don't need to shower 2 weeks and don't wear senseless mask which where free supplied, unpacked and grabbed by stinky fingers. I drink a lot of alcohol, but stay healthy!

I do it like the old style UK colonialism. The had the Gin-Tonic daily from Lunch on wards. Do you know why that was healthy? Gin contains chloro-quine, the base of Resochin my dear! Does the bell ringing?

Oh, sorry. From where you should know? Thailand was never occupied, so could not learn that lesson.

Could give some almighty please more brain to this country for a better and consistent information politic. Buddha, help!

why not just  get a fake death certificate in advance ?they must be available around town

Khao San Road is the go-to place for fake documentation of every kind.

Be aware though, that many death certificates issued in Thailand have the same cause of death listed (heart failure). I first became aware of this some years ago and on querying it with a medical doctor was told that most medical doctors in Thailand are hopeless, and that heart failure was listed as a cause of death because, by definition, death is caused by the heart ceasing to beat.

I don't know if the same applies today as applied then, but I suspect that's when my abundant cynicism of Thai doctors and the Thai medical system began. I should point out however, that in my longish stay in Thailand, I have come across some truly excellent doctors, as well as a preponderance of muppets (some of whom were working in very expensive and well-known hospitals. It isn't a racist thing or even a nationalists thing, my cynicism came about solely from observation after losing the touristy 'stars in my eyes’ (yes, I had them too and getting rid of them was an uncomfortable process).
