What will be the consequences of the Covid19?

For many, the longer-term consequences, especially the economic ones, are still abstract. Soon they won’t be.

 

In economic terms most countries will go even more heavily into debt. Trade Unions have lost no time in demanding taxpayer funds for employees, and politicians are happy to oblige.

 

Whole swathes of economic activity will be wiped out, in particular airlines. In the foreseeable future airline tickets will become vastly more expensive. Tourism will decrease, if not due to a fear of virus then simply because of cost.

 

It will affect the way we eat. Supermarkets, eager to ensure the food supply of basics have already announced they will stock less speciality and rare products. Not to mention some of the best restaurants will close.
