Virtual Thai number to forward calls to Skype/VOIP?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a "virtual" Thai phone number so that calls to that number could be forwarded to a Skype account or to a VOIP account at low rates.

Any suggestions on an inexpensive provider for such a service?.

Thanks

Not clear exactly what you need, however

You can buy a skype number for Thailand that anyone can call and it will find you online anywhere.

I have an Sydney skype number so that family can call me in Thailand, or anywhere online, for the cost to them of a local call.

There is no cost for incoming calls.

Cost for this is ~AD$50 pa

Thanks.

What I want is similar to a Skype number: people can call from their "normal" phone and it's forwarded on the internet to a "soft phone" (skype or a similar app).

I've checked skype before posting and they don't list Thailand:

https://www.skype.com/en/skype-number/

Where did you see they do?.

Cheers

Thailand was listed in a skype text list I saw of available countries.

When I just tried to buy a Thai number, the selection page does not include Thailand as an option.

Thanks, so as I've mentioned a Thai Skype number is currently not an option.

Any other suggestions?

Cheers

I use a free (iphone/android) app called "DTAC Call", not exactly for the same reasons you want, but I believe it will do the trick.

I had a DTAC SIM/tel # which I not longer needed so I added it to the DTAC Call app. Then swapped out the SIM to my new SIM #. The app has a standard interface for placing and receiving calls and SMS messages using my old DTAC #. I keep a very small balance in that account to keep the # alive, as I don't place calls with it, only receive calls and SMS. Now when someone calls/texts me on the old # my phone will ring via the app. I expected a clusterfudge of an app, but it's surprisingly straightforward and works flawlessly.
