Further details have emerged in the case of Mr Wang, 30, who was found murdered in a suitcase that washed up on a sandbank in the Ping River in Kamphaeng Phet on February 25th.

His wife is also believed to have met a similar fate.

Four men are in custody for murder. Two named Xiao and Hu Zheng were apprehended in Thailand -  - and two named Fan and Qin were caught at the port in Yangon, Myanmar.

Immigration said yesterday that following the discovery of the body of Wang in Kamphaeng Phet police went to a condo in Huay Khwang, Bangkok, where Fan had previously lived.

Four Chinese men were living there and were mixed up in an online gambling syndicate. Luo, 28, Peng, 21, Yu, 27 and Zhang, 24, were arrested and had their assets seized.

They denied being involved in the murder of Wang though two of them showed police where they had got rid of a knife on the orders of Fan.

This was near the Railway Market in Rachada.

Investigations continue in a case in which previous reports suggested the gang was working in Pattaya.
