My visa-exempt runs out pretty soon.

Do I have to bother trying to get my (first) 30-day extension?   Or does the new COVID extension announcement take care of my situation?

Let's say I'm nagged by doubt about the issue... and i go to immigration office, will they take my 1900 baht and give me an (unnecessary) extension?  Or will they likely just tell me that I don't need to do anything?

...Let's say the COVID extension keeps repeating until.... 30 June....Can I show up to immigration on 1 July and pay 1900 baht for my ("first") 30-day extension ?

Once the automatic extensions cease, you have 7 days to exit Thailand.

Where does it say that?

What they will do when the emergency degree ends they will give time for people to leave the country by land or air. I think it will be 30 days.

That is INCORRECT.

The 7-days stipulation is only for holders of BORDER PASSES. Those are usually given to migrant workers/biz-owners who frequently cross the land borders into Thailand from Cambodia/Laos/Myanmar.

+1. Very true, but we are very fortunate to have several  who are expert in their field: medical, electrical, visa, economics, etc. And then, we have the "dirty dozen," who will try to BS their way though every conversation.

Anybody knows what's the situation with multiple entry non immigrant o visa holders? Still need to go to immigration to get 60 days extension? Or get 30 days automatically same as tourists?

There's been several articles online since the PM accepted Immigrations proposal about amnesty for every type of visa holder. There's also been explanations concerning the three groups of visa holders. Why do you think you have to read posts here at TV?

I'll go with Ubonjoe's advice. There will be no need to assume. The government will tell you how much time.

So if I may ask as I am also slightly confused and have heard different answers. This Friday my 30-day tourist visa expires. So what should I do?

Nothing until the emergency decree ends.

Not according to the Prime Minister. During an interview on  television last week, which my partner translated, he stressed that those who were receiving automatic extensions or extensions using embassy letters would have 7 days from when their extensions expire to leave the country once the state of emergency was declared over. e.g. if you have received an extension to 10th May and the state of emergency terminates on 30th April those affected would have until 17th May to leave the country. I am yet to see, read or hear anything contrary to that.

Joe see my response above, and it also correlates with what CM Immigration told a friend.

Based on that interpretation, everyone who received at automatic extension (so far until April 30) would be obliged to leave at nearly the same time. Assuming the automatic extensions really did end April 30, that would imply that those on automatic extensions would leave between May 1 and May 7. Did the PM have in mind that even those without automatic extensions would be forced out of the country as soon as their regular permission to stay ended? I strongly suspect that something was lost in the translation here. Certainly, the Ministry announcement did not suggest any such thing.
