The solution is entirely in the the hands of the leadership. They can stop their nuclear program, allow inspectors unrestricted access and the problem goes away.

The issue was not about nuclear inspections. The IAEA was fine with that. The Trump administration essentially took sides in the rivalry between Iran and the Saudis. They demanded that Iran stop its activities outside its borders but made no similar demands on the Saudis. Also useful to point out that the US supports selling nuclear power plants to the Saudis with no restrictions on them manufacturing their own nuclear fuel.

I fail to see what is wrong with that. China is mega rich and doesn't need other people's money, and Iran is oil rich and should have saved for a rainy day.

  • I have a friend in Iran, and the people have been getting ROYALLY screwed for years! Sure, they may be oil rich, but that's only for the rich. NO trickle down whatsoever. Kicking people while they're

  • If Soros and Bono are in favour of this then I am against it.

You may well hold that POV, go tell it to the Iranian people who are are murdered when they demonstrate for democratic freedoms. In a health crisis some sort of compromise should be in-place to save the lives of innocents, as recognised by the Europeans, not the implacably cruel policy of the trump administration.

Yes, I agree. Send masks, other PPE, medicine, etc just NOT money (which Iran gov't has in copious amounts) so they can't fund more terrorism!

Its no one's fault except Iran regime for the people woes. NOT the civilized west.

It was that way until the US administration decided that wasn't enough.

You absolutely don’t understand the SDR mechanism. It’s not a loan and it is highly conditioned.

IMO Trump did the right thing pulling out of a ( IMO ) sham agreement that the Iranians, IMO, had no intention of honoring

Iranian compliance was being monitored by IAEA, at no time did IAEA report breaches of the agreement.
