And Thais do burn their garbage, their fields, and the air quality, from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, is so bad as to be real problem. Thai neighbours are fantastically inconsiderate, running power tools and keeping 5 dogs, all lose and allowed to roam the streets and attack people and urinate all over. Thai speaker announcements at 6.30 am from the friendly monastery neighbours at full volume and including tasteful dance music. Police are even more useless in Thailand than they are in other parts of the world, and distinguish themselves by their total absence in enforcing traffic laws. 5 1 1

It does baffle me why people scoff at the idea that here the elections are "free" yet they actually believe that they have a real choice when "electing" their governance. I personally refuse to participate when the choice is "the better of two evils".

jvs
More and more often i start to respond to some reaction and when i am done typing i just do not post it. The reason?I think why bother but sometimes i just can not ignore things. Almost like in real life when we go to a party or just go out. You are surprised what you see is going on when you are the only one sober and the rest of the people is getting drunk. No need for Thai or Farang bashing as long as you can call a spade a spade. Maybe being here for a few years makes you more cynical but that is probably saying more about me. We all have our vices.

Popular Post villagefarang
The way I look at it, if someone came into my home uninvited, perhaps even unwelcome, proceeded to put their feet up on the furniture and criticize everything about my home and me personally, but boast they wouldn't mind sleeping with my children...well I wouldn't be very happy with that situation. If you haven't been asked for your criticism or advice then don't expect it to be welcomed with open arms. There are many Thais who understand things need to change in their country and they are trying their best to make a difference but it takes time to change things when incumbent powers refuse to budge. Things don't happen overnight in the West either. I will hope for the best and encourage Thais in their efforts but in the meantime I am focused on adapting to reality instead of howling at the moon.????
