Why digital music is great

Recommended Posts

Because I can put a song on repeat and it will do so without having to rewind a tape or lift the tone arm of a record player.

I've had Red light spells danger by the great Billy Ocean on repeat for about 1/2 an hour and enjoying it immensely. Ah disco days- wonderful.

When I think of the many thousands of dollars that I spent on vinyl and then CD's, now all available for free. Now I listen to Alexa internet radio, Soma FM, Left Coast 70's, free and ad free.

Then again, as theres no money to be made in making music , new quality music isnt being made anymore .

There's at least 50 years of good music to listen to, but I disagree there is no quality music being made. There are groups like The Shins, Dave Mathews Band and The Eels that write excellent songs.

Well yeah, but those three named bands all were formed 25-30 years ago , what I meant was that theres no new bands coming though making music to the caliber of Led Zep, Rolling Srones , Floyd etc

So true. Popular music took off in the 50s with the 45 record, became HUGE in the 60s, morphed into supergroups like Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac in the 70s, but died sometime in the 90s with emergence of <deleted> like rap. Digital theft just finished it off.
