Click start button > type "create a restore point" > configure (if not configured to automatically create restore points" or "create" if configured.

I gave up using restore points years ago as they were too unreliable. I'd often go through the process and end up with the message: "settings have not been changed - system restore unsuccessful".

 

Now I create system images before updating with Macrium Reflect (free) and if something goes wrong, I can quickly restore to the previous state. 

 

I never rush to install feature updates (twice per year). I let them mature for several months before I partake.
