Claim UK State Pension for Thai wife

Recommended Posts

My Thai wife is due her UK State Pension towards the end of this year and I understand she has two options to apply:

1. Telephone directly to international pensions, or

2. Download and complete a claims form.

She has already received an online pensions summary forecast through the UK gov gateway.

My question is, if my wife calls the pensions centre to apply, wont she still have to complete a claims form?  If that is the case, surely she should go for option 2, complete and return the claims form together with any docs that are required.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

1.  If your wife speaks and understands English ring IPC and ask they very helpful.

2.  What happened to me was I phoned them up and they sent me the forms, maybe things have changed.

Goodluck anyways we missed out on my Mrs getting a UK pension and other benefits it was all done away with.

Thanks guys.

Yes, my wife is proficient in the English language so I'll ask her to telephone IPC nearer the date and we can go from there.
