Songkran is the perfect time for the cultured people to get bombed and make complete dick heads of them selves. In most cases it's just showing off. So if people were to ignore them they would go away. There's nothing worse for a show off when they are totally ignored. I must admit in my bar hopping days there were ladies with their morals loosened by alcohol everywhere for the taking. The good old days. -

Those of you who live on 40k a month
So around 3,000 baht or so a month here, hardly likely to dent a 40,000 a month budget. Personally I budget double than and can go out and socialise with my friends in a regular pub/sports bar every 2 or 3 days. Any heavier and it would likely adversely affect my health and I'd probably enjoy it less anyway -

Water Throwing Hours.
We stocked up before Songkran and we ain't going anywhere until the week following Songkran. And Songkran was officially over April 15th. Stay out of the tourist areas where foreigners can't control themselves and don't dress up in bright colors and look like your celebrating. If someone comes up with water, stare them down with a "Don't" or "Yut." Or just don't go out. -
