British minister says 'move on' from rage over PM adviser Cummings' road trip

Johnson getting desperate. Now moved to a position of "Please make this stop".

A Prime Minister who said he was forbidden to give timescales any more. Forbidden by whom? Cummings perhaps?

Tonight, after carefully not answering lots of questions, he told the public that they had had enough of this and wanted to move on. The public have been told what to think, move along, nothing to see here, gosh look at that big shiny thing over there....

As Mandy Rice -Davis said... "He would say that, wouldn't he?"

This not a Brexit thread.... take your pointless, gutless and off-topic comments elsewhere.

The topic is Dominic Cummings - I’m doubtful but you’re aware of who created Brexit yes ?

seriously what rules did he break ?

there were very clear exceptions as pointed out many times

HE DID NOTHING WRONG

go educate yourself, this is left wing nonsense - anti brexit anti government of the highest order

DC is a hero trying to protect his family and not breaking any rules

time to move on from this BS

and time the mainstream media started reporting news instead of the left propaganda they are pushing all day every day

I want news - events, not what Adam Boulton or that other hag Burley voicing their unwanted opinions, who gives a flying ......... what they think

You may have missed it but I asked you if a man who KNEW his eyesight could be compromised got into a car and wiped out your family in a crash - where on the scale would you be from a tad miffed to murderous revenge ?

Any other Cummings defenders feel free to chip in ....

Whenever anyone uses the term "mainstream media" as the backbone of their argument, you know they have a pretty weak argument.

He's a leader, what do leaders do? They lead. If he acts a certain way, he's by default saying others can too. In a difficult time such as this, it is the exact opposite of what countries need, which is strong, united leadership, that sets a positive example. Not sneakiness and wordplay.

That tard belongs to a minority group, I’ll have to report this.

Oops sorry, carry on, nobody’s interested if the tards break rules.

What is a "tard"?

Mr. Cummings is undeniably an extremely needed asset from Mr. Johnson, and thus for the U.K..

Why not give him a special status, a  carte-blanche.

Pretty sure the majority in the U.k., which is supporting Mr. Johnson, would have no objection.

You have evidence the majority of the UK support Johnson over the issue of Cummings?

A "carte-blanche"?

Special status,eh?

No,

but he is the P.M. voted by a majority.

Pretty sure many, and certainly the hard Brexiters, would see no objection, it would be after all for the well being of the U.K..

Are the media still chirping about this? They're like a yappy dog with no teeth.

If there's one good thing to come out of this then it's Emily Maitlis being removed from Newsnight for her totally biased diatribe against Mr Cummings. If it's too biased for the BBC you know it's serious!!

I deliberately chose the Daily Mail BECAUSE it is held in such high esteem by Brexiteers.

If I had linked to the same story in the Guardian you would have attacked the source.

UK becoming like USA now? puerile politics of the gutter? this is hardly a hanging offence get over it!

It has been a few years my last time in England. I would believe that ministers/special advisers, high ranking civil servants are entitled to have special medical treatments, assistance.

How come that the puppet master, Rasputin Cummings was unable to find a child carer in the whole of London?

Why has no reporter asked him that question at his display in the garden? Or at least I am not aware of this question.

I can not believe that Britannia did sink that low.

I believe there was a suspicion that the child had Covid19. So Cummings reasoned it would not be possible to find someone prepared to offer child care.

Did you read the article you linked to? Or just hoped that I wouldn't? Your link simply proves my point since the BBC concluded that she had NOT tweeted in defence of Mr Cummings (surprise surprise).

Conversely, they found that Maitlis HAD breached impartiality rules with her vicious attack on him.

Yes. The BBC concluded that Kuenssberg was innocent and Maitlis guilty.

Hence the bias which if rife in the Conservative party media department also known as the BBC.

The BBC news is full of right wing nutters like Kuenssberg, Robinson, Smith and Neil.

As my dear mum would have said  - don't lie  you always get found out in the end and makes things much worse. He should have just told the truth and it all seems quite a simple story really. He and / or his wife got symptoms. They decided they'd prefer to spend their quarantine in a holiday home on the family estate. During that quarantine they got bored and fancied a day trip to a local picturesque town. Job done now can I get a job advising the PM.

Oh and if you are going to lie and you are a self-declared genius can't you make up a more believable story ? I'll have a go off the top of my head as the eyesight thing is unusally lame. Looking at the route to the castle, which is in part down the London road, I don't know why he didn't say "We set off for London, intending to go home. Twenty miles into the journey I started to feel a bit odd, so we turned off the A1 and drove to the first place we could sensibly stop, which was just outside Barnard Castle. I sat there for 15 mins or so, got a bit of fresh air, but still didn't feel right, so decided the best thing was to drive back again. The next day, I gave it another go, felt a lot better so carried on to London" .

These guys are now in charge what could go possibly wrong. At least we are going to have a lot of laughs as the comedy capers of these two wreck the country as their succession of "cunning plans" are revealed . ????

The English - many of them- are still suffering from the delusion that the BBC is unbiased. Some even claim that it is too liberal, we have specialist "hospitals" for those who have managed to convince themselves that is the case. Every possibility that arose to fill a BBC gap with a Tory, it was taken, from Cameron onwards.

We have seen through this unbiased BBC idiocy a long time ago in Scotland. The Scottish BBC sub office of the Tory party media has been a standing joke here for years. Only Unionists need apply.

Not so thinly veiled, about as subtle as a sledgehammer. Think I will use that next time I break the law ... seriously judge about that red light I ran, it’s time to move on.

A "carte blanche" means in the original-a "blank cheque"-are you very sure that you would write a "blank cheque" for anyone?

I'm damn sure that I wouldn't.

But he hasn't commited an offence, only the vigilantes on here and especially the MSM say he has commited an offence, you have set up a kangaroo court and have found him guilty. In the UK I thought a man was presumed innocent untill proven guilty. Take your lynch mob and go back to your homes and let the proper authorities decide if he is guilty or not, if he is, other MPs that have commited the same offence need to go too, "you cannot have one rule for Cummings and another rule for everybody else, now that wouldn't be fair now would it.

Anyone that didn't know would think it is some kind of revenge attack for his successes in the past........surely not.

The most infuriating thing for the ordinary man in the street is the unbelievable arrogance of Government misters who INSTRUCT us that "It is time to move on".  Who the hell are you mate, it's a free word, we can think what we want. If we want to carry on pursuing the lying subhuman reptile Cummings, we have every right to. If the people of the country, tire of the chase and simply dump  him back in the cesspit he arose from - so be it.

"Look here chaps, this Dom the creep thing,  is getting a bit of an embarrassment to Boris and his "friends". Could you kindly think about something else, we'd like to concentrate on continuing with our inadequate response to the covid crisis. Jolly good, great chaps, please carry on being the thick servile masses that us Tories rely on".

Surely he has a case to answer for the trip to Bernard Castle. It looks like he is in breach of section 6 of the public health act. Being outside his place or living without reasonable excuse.

What really is astonishing is that we have  a senior ministers who in desperation to absolve Dominic admit on LBC that they have driven 60 miles to test their eyes.
