Rescue workers at a well known park in downtown Nong Bua Lamphu in Thailand's north east found three men dead.

The park is a frequent scene of accidents involving fishermen and shellfish hunters.

There was also a long boat accident during a race in January that killed two.

In the Bung Nong Bua Creek rescue workers found three men dead aged 35, 49 and 51. Their Honda Wave bike was found at the scene along with evidence they had been collecting shellfish.

It appears that one of the men got trapped in a cavity under a concrete platform while looking for shellfish. His two friends went to help but they all got stuck and died of asphyxiation.

They had been dead at least since the previous day.

On January 26th two people died after a long boat capsized in a race at the park.
