One hundred pigs were burnt to death at a Buri Ram pig farm after it was engulfed in flames yesterday (May 31).

Nang Rong police station was notified of the incident at 10pm and alerted the local fire station to put out the blaze.

Firefighters needed 10 fire trucks to control the huge blaze that almost completely destroyed the farm. It took about two hours before the fire died out.

Totally, 100 pigs were found burnt alive while the rest managed to escape.

Police suspect an electrical fault caused the fire. A forensic team will examine the evidence to confirm this.

The cost of damage from the destruction of the building and the death of pigs has been put at millions of baht.

takes me back 35 years...we were having a pig on the spit...

(actually was an airforce HF Log Antenna Rotator base assembly,  laid on its side)

anyways this great big boar was happily rotating (with 8 whole chickens inside for some extra flavour...)

someone wasn't too skilled at it, and had fired the coals up in to more of a bonfire

 - funny to see the chickens all shot out the back, as in like a cannon!

I bet the chickens thought, "Were gonna die free or die frying."

Such a tragedy...I called to confirm this news but no one answered, there was just a lot of crackling.

????

Food for jokes. I can think of many, but a horrendous way to die for the pigs. Their squeals must have been terrible.

Probably better than being squeezed onto a truck and being driven around in the burning sun all day.

Animals are treated dreadfully here.

Aw, c'mon people. That is a horrible way to  die !

What I  find strange is  what the... is inside  pig pens that has such a  fire  potential?

Do the images presented  by  Animal  Righteous  Inc. not  show the truth  of  lush  furnishings and  HD TV  with   Home Theatre sound systems?

Or is it  that there  is a low  flash point  for  pig  fat ?
