When will Phuket Airport open?

Featured Replies

Hotels now are open, but Phuket Airport is not open for at least domestic flights at the same time.

Why.

They did not get the certification yet from Civil Aviation Ofiice.

Looks like they plan to open on 16th June. But that is based on what NOK, Vietjet, Airasia, Thai and Thaismiles availability pages show. Tickets are unavailable , but available from 16. It might be later if the certification is not in place.

Go to Surat and take the plane there. Krabi is also late..

Because the reason for Phuket airport not being open is old news.

I would beg to differ. Phuket airport was originally closed by the Phuket governors because of Covid-19 concerns. The aviation authority, pre-empted the governors decision to open the airport May 16. Since then The Thaiger and Phuket news have not had any up-dates on why the airport remains closed. You can go to Phuketairportonline.com to get some idea of flight status.

One day say open and then next day they change there mind closed.

They open hotels, but who is going to stay in them when they don't even open the airport for domestic travelers.
