How many alcoholics do you know who are at a "very young age" (which I define as 5 to 10 years old). Now, I doubt that the girl started taking drugs when she was 10. But even if she was 14 or 15, shouldn't the mother have stepped in? I know I would have.

What would you do in the situation if your child was a teenager taking drugs? I started smoking marijuana at the age if 14. I don't know if my mother could have stopped me.

Parents can do all they can to protect and direct their children, but their peers can be a strong influence. Curiosity, boredom and wanting to do what their friends do to fit in gets most of them started, along with seeing their own parents as alcoholics or drug users. My friends got me started, and my parents didn't have a clue, except for the time I can home drunk.

Misterwhisper seems to think it is the mother's fault the girl took drugs and if he was the parent he could have stopped her. I deliberately wrote parent because the father was an incestuous paedophile.

Khaosod reports he'd been molesting her since she was young.

Then it seems i was correct about what i suspected.

Speculation one hopes which will be investigated by the police and prosecution

In a parallel universe, yes - here not so likely.

This kind of news story is very common in the Thai language news organizations.

What? Is it common for girls to cut off their fathers genitals?

And the mother wasn't able to control her daughter's drug habit while she was still "very young"? Great parenting!

You are very kind and very ill informed no chance for compassion.

She got tired of dad poking fun at her and did some poking and slicing, unfun

on him.  Sad family situation, however I doubt that the dad was an angel

of a man.

In the other newspaper they already said the father had abused her when she was young. Both sexually and normal child abuse.

I just hope it counts a bit as mitigating circumstances. He messed her up.. the drugs probably an escape messed her up even more.

People used to tell me incest was rife in Thailand

Ah not just Thailand, if you look at the newspaper it happens all over the world. Now a big case again in Germany. We had it in the Netherlands seen Uk cases. Plust many peado's that are caught are white. So no need to act like white guys are angels.

Yea probably not described correctly. I meant non sexual abuse as beatings too on top of the sexual abuse.

Well it would have been translated from Thai and probably not by a native speaker - - - so as a native speaker just read between the lines, apply a bit of comprehension and inference to what is probably meant.

No it was not translated from from Thai, it was a post from another member. Read the thread then comment: comprehend??

I fully understood what was said.

The other member said "in the other newspaper etc etc" that reported normal abuse.

So maybe you should "comprehend"
