op is bragging about how many of his cool as shoot friends send him all these texts and what not. stop moaning...at least you got friends.

Nah, acquantacies (sp) Who actually has real friends here? As for Cool as shoot, they're old timers.

Tbh, it's more an observation of the modern day world and how some grown men now behave, rather than a moan. Capice?

Anyway, I must stop replying as it's been pointed out I have too many posts on my own fred ????

Yes. But if you read my op properly that isn't the issue, I'm asking what this is all about??

It is part of a societal phenomena of social networking services. there are people who do it and people who don't.

If you don't want so see it don't click. If you don't want friends who send it BLOCK THEM

I've come across this and it tends to be folk who are typically inexperienced in the world of the internet/smartphone/social media; all of a sudden having this wealth of infomedia at their fingertips wanting to share it with the world thinking you have never seen anything like it or to look funny, cool, clever etc. They used to do the same with group emails with porno links and jokes... ten years after everyone else. :giggle:

Not sure exactly what you refer.

I have a couple of friends that constantly send memes and vids of girls. I enjoy the laughs and the girls. Im happy to receive them.

Certainly would not mind anyone sending me a video of girls, but men?? A big no no.

As I'm not on Facebook, and never will be, I don't have this problem.

Personally i get it on Line, not Facebook, it just depends if a friend suddenly decides it's a cool thing to do. They must be receiving them from their Thai girlfriend, who often have slap stick sense of humour

Good to see the thread regain some normality and generally go down the path I expected it to now that the 'hey bro, just chill dude' crowd have had their say.

There is one idiot that sends these vids reguarly but looks down his nose at anyone that has a Facebook account. How ignorant is that.

So am I, tall, slim, no fat belly, no tattoos, no facial hair. ????

Quite accurate if you are referring to the image you use as your avatar. Forgive me for pointing out it does conflict with your stated gender ( male ), however.

Jokes between mates for keeping in touch? Seems a quite blokey thing?

But how many 'jokes' do you need?

I also think the keeping in touch thing is a women's thing too...if you aren't ever, or very rarely, going to physically see said chum for a pint or at the gym etc, what exactly is the point in keeping in touch?

Depends where they live? On different continents. Agreed some men have no sense of humour.

I can't knock people for keeping in touch, I mean who is that cynical, but for me it's usually something like 'how's you, been up too much, kids ok' etc..bog standard answer and ask the same thing back. So not really sure the it's worth it, as I said before more of a women's thing for me.

They're just lonely.

You should see the poop my single female rellys insist on sharing to my facebook page.

Antiwindfarm, dog, cat, cooking recipes, it's sad really they have no life and never seem to leave their homes.

Here's one of me watching TV with my pet rabbit.

Any videos or photo's that people I know send to me are generally interesting, informative and/or funny and I have no problem with that at all.

I have two approaches to this situation.  The first is that I try to kindly dissuade any of my friends who continually send me stuff in which I am totally disinterested.  With one, though, I told him that if he continued after my first warning, I would simply "unfriend" him, from FB, WhatsApp, whatever.

However, I remind myself that we live in an electronic, digital age, and should make ourselves as conversant with it as is reasonably possible.  I don't see it as at all "unmanly" if my male chums exchange nudes, porn videos, jokes etc with me, coz I do the same back.  In my opinion, that's a "man" thing (and a side benefit is that all of these old buddies are keeping in touch with me)!

Guys??? It's more of a woman's thing, innit. And I'm specifically talking about photos/vids, did you miss that bit?? Men use to be men back when, no more though.

Ah, the 'innit' word, obviously a true man.

So men don't buy Internet phones to fool around with...?

Hmmmm, your way of thinking below.....????
