UK 700 protestors stage angry demo at Scots asylum hotel that house
Oh: “Labour MP Euan Stainbank, representing Falkirk, called for the removal of migrants from the Cladhan Hotel, arguing that such accommodations are ineffective for both host communities and the residents. Senior Tory MSP Sharon Dowey echoed these concerns, demanding the government find alternative housing solutions for migrants, citing legitimate safety concerns for locals.” -

O/A Visa renewal & Oz Passport expiry
I'm in opposite school of thought. Oz pp like many have a validity of 10 years. Renew anytime in last 1-2 yr. Certainly not leaving to till last 2 months. Granted my recent (ish) Oz pp renewal process time from mail to Bangkok and receive new pp via mail was 20 days. -

Kampot Axe Murder Suspect Caught After Four-Day Manhunt
Cambodian police have arrested a man accused of a brutal axe murder in Kampot province, ending a four-day cross-provincial manhunt that gripped local communities. The killing occurred on the evening of 10 August in Khnach village, Wat Ang commune, Banteay Meas district. According to police, 41-year-old Naing Samnang—also known as Tep—allegedly attacked and killed 52-year-old Ngy Tim, a fellow villager, with an axe following a heated dispute. The suspect fled the scene immediately, prompting a coordinated search led by Lieutenant General Ngeng Chu of the Criminal Police Department. Working alongside Kampot and Takeo provincial forces, investigators tracked Samnang to a remote village in Takeo province. He was apprehended on 14 August at 3:10 p.m. in Sre Cheung Ratsa village, Tram Kak district. During questioning, Samnang confessed to the killing, claiming it followed a physical altercation initiated by the victim. The case has now been handed over to Kampot Provincial Police for further legal proceedings. Authorities have praised the swift cooperation between regional departments, which led to the suspect’s capture without further incident. The murder has shocked residents of Khnach village, where both men were known locally. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the dispute, while urging calm and vigilance in the community. -2025-08-18
