It is rather embarrassing that many of the posters here appear to have no understanding that while negotiations are in progress the UK will not capitulate to the EU 'demands' without some reasonable assurances and at least a balanced outcome

 

UK is correct and entitled to take a hard line at the outset, and if there is only self preservation discussion on the part of the EU with no concessions then the UK is entitled to stick to that hard line

was not the concept of a 'level playing field' agreed to by May's Govt. and now conveniently dumped? If you have a history of acting in bad faith (and you have a LOT of history on that count), it makes for a difficult negotiating environment. Anything that the UK wants, it will have to be unanimously approved by all 27 member states.  Your optimism is breathtaking.

Nothing to do with your divorce either, it is to do with British folk getting their country and waters back, plus try to deal with each other fairly.

Optimistic yes Thank you, I carry no fear for the future of the UK, it is time to move on and not be hamstrung by the self preserving bureaucrats of Europe, enough of the 'bullying' tactics. The population of the UK carries enough talent and ability to survive and prosper.
