I've taken more of an interest in China since the start of this virus, how complacent we have become, they have wormed their way in to so many things, that we are fast becoming partly reliant on them, added to that see how they are dealing with Hong Kong, My opinion for what its worth is that world leaders need to pull the reins in on China before it's too late.

Problem with your theory - China.

Or is that why America is so scared of China?

You don't think the "globalists" also control China?

Please clarify the claim the western powers of globalisation is in charge of China.

Please show me journals or academic papers. As this is a super claim that it has to be academic.

oh yeah? try and come here - - or go to Europe...

I think it is quite well documented that Fla has many cases... just because neither of your 2 friends have it does not mean others are ok..

What do you know about Florida?

Others are not ok? And? Do I know them? No I don't. If they are not ok, not my business.

Same as the thousands that die in car wrecks in Thailand each year. Don't know any of them.

We are not stranded at home, no desire to go to Thailand or Europe.

Everything is open here. No issues

Went to Thai Grocery store today. Had lunch with my wife on the ocean. Stopped by the hardware store.

Hardly stranded

I've learned why the world is such a mess.  It's largely explained by one 11-letter English word that describes a combination of a majority of the Seven Deadly Sins.  Google translate indicates it only takes 7 letters en Francais.

If you're first to guess the word, I'll buy you a beer/latte (in CM) after Thailand allows me to enter without the 14 day quarantine.

BREVARD COUNTY, Florida (07JUL2020) – Bank of America has closed all of its branches in Brevard County except for three locations.

The Bank of America branch closures in Brevard County are part of a larger closure throughout the State of Florida due to the continuing spread of COVID-19 in the Sunshine State.

I don't use Bank of America.

My bank 100% of all services are all online.

Brevard county has 600,000 people

What's the point?

Is it better to count ALL the cases or shut down the country claiming NO cases?

Wow.. you can go out your door - I am impressed... yes, been to Fla many times and have friends there still... and maybe today it does not effect you but when you can't find a hospital bed if you get ill, then maybe it will...

but I surely wouldn't haunt a forum there making comparisons to Thailand...

And the belief in conspiracy theories is based  on circular logic. Anyone who points out the flaws with them must be part of the cover-up and the bigger they think the cover-up is, the more they believe.

Scrubba-dub-dub.  Ya got the old cortex as clean as a whistle.
Now those of you with a well hone normality bias can see a "conspiracy of conspiracy theorists" in all of those who hold an opinion that goes against your own views which have been shaped and molded by what you see and hear on your TV and read on your phone by 'the experts' and 'the authorities' and 'your leaders.'

In the spik-and-span normie mind, anyone capable of independent thought and analysis who dares questions conventional wisdom must be a card carrying NRA member who reads Q-anon in their basements while listening to Rush Limgbaugh and watching Fox News.  And they are all out to upset your personal apple cart when they aren't oiling their AR-15s and genuflecting to the American flag and statues of Thomas Jefferson.  Muhhaaa.

Normies are funny, funny people.  Just toss rational analysis out the window and follow your leaders - without question.  ????  Just Obey!

It's stopped life in the US for nearly 135,000 Americans, at today's count. If you don't know anyone with CV, that may be because your circle of friends is limited. Check out hospital wards that are close to being overwhelmed, such as New York.

Hasn't stopped life one bit? Most US airlines are grounded, and Americans are pariahs in other countries of the world. No-one wants plague carriers. Although you may be right, as long as you stay in America.

Perhaps Trump will get the Mexicans contributing to his wall after all.

I agree 100%. I might add -if you believe in the social theory of 6 degrees of separation it is virtually impossible to not know someone who has contracted Covid-19.

This is not a ‘hoax’ or plandemic, but neither is it going to kill us all.

It's taught me that there are a lot of people that think hiding in their room from a virus is a good idea. Unless old and decrepit or have health problems the best, IMO, idea is to get it and develop immunity, just like when I was deliberately infected with measles by my parents.

People old and vulnerable I guess best stay isolated but you can do it without hiding in a room.

If your young and I guess C19 wouldn't be more than a bad cold but they could be the persons that spread it.

My mrs warned me about Dengue fever but I got it just the same, C19 I would like to steer clear of because I have Asthma.

The current death rate in the USA is about 4% (137,000 deaths/3, 370,000 reported case). Death rate from measles is .2%. Given the current statistics you are 20 times more likely to die from Covid-19 than measles. In my opinion those are not great odds.

The odds of catching CV? Come on man. You have 10 times better odds getting struck and killed by lightning. Fact!

Nonsense. Underlines my thoughts on lessons learnt from the Covid crisis, way too much misinformation spread on social media by politicians and others with agendas contrary to 'do no harm'.

Covid has taught me the superior competence compared to Western governments of mostly Asian governments such as S. Korea, Taiwan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, but also New Zealand and some others.  It has confirmed my view that the US government is among the most corrupt, and therefore incompetent, in the world.

It taught me that during the lockdown with lots of businesses and factories closed that i could look out the window and see blue sky and mountains and the city.

Or you can follow the wonderful logic of the USA president- slow down the testing so the numbers don’t look so bad. Great strategy. Like asking authorities to stop reporting traffic fatalities to make the numbers look better.

Take the numbers, do the math.

8 billion people on earth!

Odds of being struck by lightning in your lifetime (Est. 80 years) 1/15,300

(National Weather Service)

Irrelevant comparison. Do the numbers, how many people killed this year / last year in the US version number of people dying from Covid this year.

I wasn't comparing the death rate. I was saying that I was deliberately infected with it so I developed immunity.
