Any Suggestions For A Rental Place In Patong?

Recommended Posts

Looking for 1 or 2 b/r, decent size with sep kitchen or kitchenette and lounge. UBC, air and parking. I have been trying to find a townhouse or house and virtually given up on that, so now I am looking for an apartment. I need it in Aug, Sep and Oct this year. Looking around the B25 to 35k/month rate. Either the 'low season' is going to be busy this year, or I am looking too early. I acutally had a townhouse booked but the booking was lost and it was let to someone else - pests! Any suggestions would be highly appreciated - I am not into renting a room for a day and then hunting one down when I get there. Been there, done that and never again.

Theres lot of places (and will be mre by the time your looking in really low season) but theres no way to know whats on the market next week let alone next month or many months away such as that..

Unless you pay top end prices for vacation rental landlords are not booking ahead in this way much.

IMO the only way to find good deals IS to get here first then hunt.. The deals I see you wont find online.. 2 bed townhouse 10k.. 1 bed furnished apartment with wireless broadband and cable tv 12k..

Thanks LL, yes I am aware of the pitfalls of trying to book too early, but I have managed to do so in the past. The problem is that last time that I hunted when I got there, it was a pest. I want to have everything arranged beforehand. I have managed to get reasonable deals before, but I am noticing an increasing trend in unrealistic prices being quoted by various places/estate agents. Many of these places seem to be perpetually available for rental, but I suppose if they get a couple of rentals a year, they are making the same as they would for full occupancy at lower prices.

It suits me to only go there in low season, since high season in Phuket is also spring/summer in my country (Australia). I am actually considering buying an apartment and living in Phuket each year during the low season and renting it out during the high season. (I would like to buy a townhouse, but things are looking iffy in that direction.)

Thanks for your reply. I will keep looking.

Please delete reference - I have managed to organise the same house I have rented in previous years (ideally located, reasonable price, PERFECT! - already booked it for next year as well!)
