Amulet doesn't prove lucky for serial cat burglar - he'll be back off to jail!

A serial house burglar was caught having dinner in a hospital restaurant after his latest theft.

Samrerng, 57, from Lampang, was wearing a two baht weight gold chain and amulet taken from a house in the Bang Mae Nang, Nonthaburi, police jurisdiction on Friday.

His haul from the burglary at the two story house where he ransacked a bedroom contained the chain, other gold and amulets, sapphire jewellery, commemorative coins and notes all worth a total of 200,000 baht.

Bang Mae Nang police used CCTV to trace his ride on a Yamaha getaway bike to his address in nearby Bang Kruay.

Investigators discovered he had an appointment at Yanhee Hospital where they arrested him in a restaurant wearing the not so lucky amulet on the gold chain.

The rest of the haul was found at his residence.

Samrerng was convicted of burglary in Taling Chan, Bangkok, in 2005, Bang Len, Nakhon Pathom in 2010 and Nonthaburi in 2015.

For the latest of those offences he was jailed for several years and got out in June only to turn back to crime.

He was charged with burglary and detained after being taken on a reenactment.

not the smartest cat burglar around.

"Samrerng was convicted of burglary in Taling Chan, Bangkok, in 2005, Bang Len, Nakhon Pathom in 2010 and Nonthaburi in 2015."

2005, 2010, 2015 and now 2020.

I guess we'll see this genius' name appear once more in 2025 going by this cycle . . . . ????
