Brexit WIN: Europe finally accepting UK departure - Britain remains 'magnet for big bucks'

THE UK has scored a Brexit victory as Europe seemingly finally accepts the nation's departure from the bloc, with Britain fast becoming the "magnet for the big bucks" as global companies locate their headquarters to London over mainland Europe

Last month, the manufacturer of brands such as Unox, Marmite and Dove decided on London for its headquarters over Rotterdam - despite the frantic efforts of Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

The decision was also praised by Business Secretary Alok Sharma, who praised the move from Unilever as a "clear vote of confidence in the UK".

Despite several other global businesses expressing a desire to move their headquarter out of London after Brexit, "there is no sprint towards the exit", as several others continue to state their intentions to settle in London, and will not move to Europe unless there is a "hard Brexit".

The Dutch editorial says: "The United Kingdom was on track to outflank the eurozone over the next two years.

How many of the 52% wanted a No-Deal Brexit? That trade agreement was supposed to be super easy to get and nothing would change...

Indeed, and it is the people with skills that we should be valuing that are leaving mainly.  Immigrant haters will be in bliss looking at the net immigration figures, but the loss of skilled workers is serious, you can't train Brits up to do these jobs overnight. Our society is diminished, but Putin's Brexiteer puppets are happy so I guess all must be well.

Don't worry, Us Irish can come over and be trained to pick potatoes (that is, after the EU collapses, according to The Express). We can bring our own donkey and cart.

Yawn. Time HMG started working to stop the brain drain (yer exporting yer top talent).

The Guardy: The number of British nationals emigrating to other EU countries has risen by 30% since the Brexit referendum, to a level akin to a country experiencing “economic or political crisis”, experts have found. Analysis of data from the OECD and Eurostat shows the number leaving was 73,642 a year in 2016-18, with a 500% increase in those who then took up citizenship in an EU state. In Germany’s case 31,600 Britons have naturalised since the referendum – a 2,000% rise. The biggest jump in migration has been to Spain, followed by France.

Next you will be quoting where UK folk will be holidaying, I can see your headline...

I have written to Patel, instead of finding the hardest and longest method of expulsion of this scum, just straight onto prison van, onto ferry  then dumped back in France, lunchbox provided (apple, few biscuits)

What could be easier?personally I would dump the scum half way over to France

Well the slight problem in your plan is there is no legal route to send them back after the end of the year = it was an EU agreement that allowed us to do it

Corral them,do what Merkel has done, separate them, move from appointed accommodation, lose benefits

Liked the story a while ago, UK Manchester actually, just that, separated,if moved loss of benefit, could not stand it he went to local police station demanded to be returned to his home country

The scum will not comply,go missing, that's OK eventually become slave labour, useful for somebody anyway

Brexit negotiations does indeed involve getting rid of the scum, back to France,if they want fishing, have to accept potential fish food

Yes, and I imagine all the saints just love those comments too. This is horrid little England talking. All the foreigners were just fine, so long as they were under your colonial rule as you raped their countries. Now karma is coming back to haunt you. Further, with Boris's proven uselessness with managing flood controls, I expect that the lower half of the Island will sink beneath the waves.

This appears to be the English xenophobes section of the forum.

The England I know is a far more welcoming place to immigrants, although maybe that place is disappearing?

Welcome to the real world.

You must come from that there London town. You know, the place where the streets are paved with benefits, handouts and freeloaders. I wish it would disappear and take them all with it.

When I see Gypsies etc bragging about getting 30/ 40 thousand pounds a year from benefit Britain I quite agree on closing the borders and sending them back to where they came from. This is one of the main problems that has driven honest people crazy , working hard all their lives to give tax money away to criminals, yes, they are criminals. I see it myself in France, getting free lodgings , schooling , health benefits, and all because they belong to the EU. There are good laws, and very bad ones. I do not agree with the EU on many things. If many people voted for Brexit, it is the fault of EU .

A fine example of how the gullible swallowed Cummings' and Farage's lies in 2016.

Brexit has made no difference to the migrant/refugee/asylum situation in the UK.

Those people you refer to as 'scum' do not and never have come under the aegis of the FoM directive. They are not EU/EEA or Swiss nationals and so their applications to remain here are covered completely and only by the UK's own laws and regulations; always have been.

In addition, most legal immigration to the UK has always come from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland. Brexit will make no difference to that.

Yes it is; or parts of it.

Are you seriously suggesting putting the English/Scottish border there?

Be giving a large chunk of North England to Scotland if we did!
