Pattani bag snatch death: Drug addict and gambler arrested

Police in Pattani have arrested the man who caused the death of a woman who was riding pillion in Muang district of the city in the far south of Thailand. 

 

Phakphoom Ngoh, 26, has admitted snatching her bag causing her to be dragged to the road surface. 

 

Yuwita, 45, suffered a fractured skull and died in the incident that was caught on CCTV. 

 

Following the crime on Wednesday the suspect ditched his jacket and went to his wife's house in Yaha district where he was surrounded and arrested on Saturday.

 

Pattani police said that he has been charged with snatch theft using a conveyance resulting in death. 

 

He has admitted the crime and said that it was to get money for drugs and online gambling. 

 

Earlier on the 26th of the month he stole a mobile phone after pretending to buy one at a shop and running off.
