Thailand's immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompoing Chingduang visited Koh Samui and presided over a seminar as preparations continued for a "New Normal" return to tourism on the island that has been devastated by the coronavirus pandemic.

"Big Oud" was there to encourage a raft of new work practices for his men or Standard Operating Procedures.

He also heard opinions from key players in the tourism sector such as restaurant owners, hoteliers and shop keepers.

Immigration is keen to work together with the business operators on the island to present a united front for a place that has been selected as one for an attempted return to tourism normality.

He is also keen to initiate work between immigration and the wider community to inspire confidence and community satisfaction.

Bkk - Samui one of the world's most expensive short haul flights

Not really

2.300 baht one way at the moment. Similar to prices 15 years ago.

How about not locking people in disgusting jails for immigration issues then. Karma's getting him and Thailand for what they do.
