August 29, 20205 yr Can any one recommend a flowering bush/shrub suitable as a centre piece to a lawn with full day sun. Thanks in advance.
August 29, 20205 yr We had a 3 colour bougainvillia for many years, it's three different coloured plants grafted onto one root stock. Positives Indestructible Lots of flowers Negatives Thorns (thornless varieties are available) Very fast growing, needs regular clipping or it will get out of hand "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
August 29, 20205 yr Hibiscus are a nice leafy shrub with lovely vibrant flowers, you can give these a clip a couple of times a year if you want to keep it to a compact shape and check growth.

September 4, 20205 yr If you give a bit of a frames support Allamanda could be the answer. Big yellow trumpet like flowers year round and it likes full sun. It can be untidy hence the frame support.
September 4, 20205 yr Cannabis ? Loves the sun . Prune it at 2 feet and it will bush out nicely. Flowers are very pleasant, especially when dried. Caveat. You need high walls around your property to discourage unwanted attention.
