Hi,

Heading to BKK for the weekend coming, with the two national holidays Monday and Friday to replace Songkran.

Will there be lots of water?

They have replaced a few Songkran days already with no water being splashed.

I dont think anyone is thinking or cares about water. Water at Songkran goes hand in hand with people going to see their families and the general holiday atmosphere. A couple of extra days in September when people have no money, many are out of work, i very much doubt for most it will be a 'holiday' 'party' atmosphere.

You must be a barrel of laughs.

The upcoming holidays are public holidays. They must be honoured.

Same for Khon Kaen uni. One granddaughter will not come for the weekend.

These extra holidays on short notice just make a lot of confusion.

As above: no water festival, no mass gatherings/parades etc.

Songkran in September, like Christmas in May.

No water splashing in empty Soi's in Pattaya.

Remember: it's still state of emergency, closing hour at midnight etc.

They are being honoured at my place of work, all of them are now at the end of december.

I don't think so.

Songkran as a holiday is not replaced. It's the last 2 public holidays (during Songkran) that are replaced. Do you think they can move a thai new year celebration?

Its a 2 day [Mon/Fri] extension holiday in lieu if days lost due to Covid during the month of April.... It is not Songkran, there will be no water, or other Songkran related actiivities.

There is still in place an emergency decree which stipulates no large gatherings.
