Online Baccarat: The most deadly gambling game in Thailand

In my younger years I used to gamble quite a lot, and it became problem gambling for me. However, I never got into or tried online gambling, or gambling on credit. I had a relative who was gambling online (slots I think), it was only when he died that it was known how much debt he'd run up doing so.

gambling is dopamine abuse disease ...

some alzheimer patients gamble their life savings away with dopamine stimulating drugs

Yes a lot of people take it for being weak willed.....but it is your brain chemistry which is the problem.

Why is online gambling even legal?  In the USA, Broadcast Christian channels have ruined more lives than gambling.  People spending their savings trying to buy a magical prayer or a mythical entry to "heaven".

No society needs these things

Internet gambling had started out in mid/late 1990's.   It was virtually the first 'kick of the can" for online business -- easy setting up at low cost, low maintenance, high profitability.

I had predicted internet gambling WOULD NOT be a biggie way back then,  the failing had been all about gambler psychology.   Now, decades had gone by,  we had not yet heard of anybody making billions running online/internet gambling business.

Seeing how the Thai are so crazy about betting on live boxing in boxing stadium.   I suspect the Thai are not keen about ONLINE Baccarat,  or ONLINE gambling as a whole either.

Really? Head of Bet365 in UK paid herself a salary of 422 million USD in 2019.

AFAIK,  online gambling is illegal in Thailand so it's market is bound to be limited to an extent.

The second Thai person I've had talk about online gambling, lost about 50k THB during the COVID lockdown. It was their first foray into gambling, and the binge lasted about 3-4 days. Around half of their bank account. At least they had the sense to stop before it was empty.

It's a problem - as when there's that kind of easy money on the table (50k in 4 days), you can imagine the incentive for online gambling companies to seek out these problem gamblers.

It made me wonder about the legalities, as they were using domestic bank transfers to fund the account.. I thought it was illegal here, and you would think any domestic transfer would be easy to trace and prosecute.
