A Suan Dusit poll asked Thais last week what they are most stressed about.

1. How expensive everything is : 67.76%

Asked what was their answer to all this stress the replies were:

1. Go shopping: 51.47%

A total of 1,358 Thais were asked their opinions in the poll from Wednesday to Friday of last week, said Sanook.

So your solution to manage the stress of everything being expensive,

is to go shopping and buy it anyways?

Yes and you would probably get a similar shallow answer in the developed countries as well. Maybe even more so!

Why? Have you ever thought about how many people go shopping with family on free days, and see that as a social and relaxing thing to to? What is shallow with that? I think the only thing shallow here is your way of thinking. I would actually go as far as saying it´s hollow.

Not really noticed any rising prices.

Free government school gone from 0k/term to 6k/term.

Government University went from 8k/term to 12k/term.

Mortgage has gone down from 6.25% to 4.75%

Petrol down from 33bht/ltr to 21bht/ltr.

I actually think things are getting a bit cheaper overall.

The 18kbht/year I save on the mortgage (1.5%) more than makes up for any other increases.

Never trust a poll that expresses percentages to 2 decimal places (e.g. 67.76%). It shows that the people conducting the poll are amateurs.

I would suggest that they collated the figures on a spreadsheet and didn't bother (or didn't know to) round the results to a whole number.
