The reality is that Trump is a fraudster or scammer. No, I haven't been looking at Thaifriendly too much. The truth is Trump is a con-man and many folks have bought into it. Those that haven't enjoy white privilege.

 

I sincerely hope democratized socialism catches on in the states particularity workers' rights and power to vote.

 

I'll debate anyone regarding capitalism. The truth is more equality will benefit all. F Trump & Biden too.

For me it's like which parts of the media do I trust. You have the main stream media (which you could call "sane stream media") which caters to ordinary, "non-agitated" people who're not actively looking for conspiracies. Then you have the part of the media that caters to your kind, those who's beliefs don't fit with the facts.

It's the same thing with the medical professionals and scientists. You have the main stream medicos who generally agree on what's best for us but can change their minds and advice as new knowledge is being gained. Then you have the political hacks (Dr. Scott Atlas is a prime example) and looneys who people with an agenda turn to.

Now that was easy, right?

I wanted to add to my original post...

 

In my experience in Thailand, I find many elderly Brits, seem to take sides with the establishment. They are focused on your inability to know what to vote for. I find this distasteful and lacking...

 

Capitalism is not the answer, rather community focused policies which include regulations on the wealthy.

bunch of hypocrite, liars that couldn't get the facts straight, 1st he said Trump is doing very well after 72 hours of infection, thus Wednesday,  but later said Trump tested positive Thursday (48 hours before). asked if Trump has taken oxygen he refuse to answer.... don't want to sound too negative but just afraid of a big cover up and since Trump will do/say anything to get attention and maybe re-elected this could be just a show to get Trump's friends in the pharmaceutical field to get a burst with their stocks, hope I am wrong but a liar always a liar and Trump's always looking for contradiction.... why the wife is not at the hospital, she's not that important to be under their care 555

Agree it was confusing and contradictory info. Possibly the doctor was mindful of patient/Dr confidentiality and had not covered the minutia with Trump before the interview, or perhaps confused and flustered by the interview? Who knows. I am sure all will be revealed as soon as possible.

The doctor later claimed that he "misspoke". Which is new Trump speak for "alternative facts", or lying to the common man.

As a "bear of very little brain", I think I will stick to our system, whereby you mark a cross on a ballot paper with a blunt pencil on a bit of string, and put it into a ballot box to be counted that night!

I don't know which country you are from but 21% of votes in the last UK election were postal votes.

Just how thick are these people?  In the middle ages if someone committed a heinous act, they were beheaded and the decapitated head was stuck on a pole and left in a prominent place to supposedly deter others.  Thankfully those days are gone (in most of the civilised world), but the example that Trump has now set by falling ill himself, should encourage his deluded supporters to wear masks and socially distance.  In other words - do as I say, not as I do (somewhat belatedly).

There is a very easy way to assess it: the number of excess deaths.

What does it show?

- There are excess deaths. More people died than expected, and there is no other reason than covid-19 to explain it (I.e. no particular increase of regular flu deaths during this period)

- the number of official covid-19 deaths is well below the number of excess deaths. It shows it is likely that the number of covid-19 deaths has been underestimated.
