webfact
Video: Irate netizens as car gets enveloped in thick black smoke from pick-up video screenshot Thai media Thai Rath published a video from the road that runs along Klong Prapa in Bangkok that showed a pick-up push in front of a car in the left hand lane. As if this wasn't bad enough the pick-up when revved then enveloped the white car behind in a thick blanket of black smoke. The driver is forced to slow because he can't see a thing. A motorcyclist following must have got a lungful of noxious fumes too. The media said that comment from irate netizens was rife on Facebook. Report the driver, some said, you'll get 50% of the 2,000 baht fine! Pity the motorcyclist! said others. Disgrace!, said yet more. Where are the police? asked some. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2020-10-07 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates
Popular Post petermik
An everyday occurrence here...an effective yearly vehicle inspection would sort these out but of course TIT where nothing changes and a large percentage of vehicles are unroadworthy anyhow... 9

Popular Post chickenslegs
I've seen this quite often recently. Pickup (usually lowered and with oversized tyres) accelerating away and leaving a cloud of black smoke. These cars are not old bangers, but look as if the owner has gone to some expense to customize them. Is it possible that the smoke cloud is a deliberate effect, not a lack of maintenance? 4 1

The egr can be blocked electronically with a device that plugs into the air filter/intake. Via the sensor. Yep deliberate. An OTT remap of the ecu of a diesel to gain power will cause this. These truck racers don't seem to realise no one is impressed by them, the girls aren't swooning over them like they think. The give away is a neon ECU TUNE sticker in the back window. I saw a police stop in phuket the other day which was pulling over these idiots and testing the exhausts, so there is some hope.

A proper tune cam increase HP and Torque without the belching black smoke. A dodgy tune or piggy back box though... well hello black smoke have been for some very quick rides in pickup that blow a heap of smoke though sbut can confirm they are making the herbs, Friend has a 500hp Izuzu and holy moly what a beast it is !!

richard_smith237
Its the wrong time of year - this news will be out of mind within hours. Wait until January - Peak Pollution time (in Bangkok) and this news will gain more traction, another crackdown on pollution and polluting vehicles.... a few officials making rubbish announcements in the media... then forget about it for another year ! 1

talahtnut
My old 1956 Land Rover made heaps of black smoke, but being English designed, the exhaust pipe pointed politely to the side so as not to offend vehicles following. Sheer British genius. 1

No, the engine has been tuned up, that is what happens when you put big HP in a diesel, but that ride may have a problem with his setup....Watch below...

Venom
Making smoke and noise seems to signify the coming of age in Thai culture! This will last until approximately the age of 50. Also, the exhaust pipe is typically cut off midway so the smoke appears to be coming from under the truck. UCMTSU!
