When I read the news this morning my first thought was ' The protestors are winning this & the Dinosaurs are running scared.   More power to the youngun's elbows.

  • Totally disagree with you, it is slowly growing, and soon the whole country will be involved. Your idol and his cronies have already shown that they are running scared with this mornings announce

The army desperados think this will stifle dissent. I doubt it will. They are so despised at this point, this draconian move will only make things worse.   And in addition, this will stifle

I posted this in another Op regarding the Governments heavy handedness and now infringing on the rights of all people including foreigners who rely on transport in the capital.

Good to spread the word but bad for commuters today.

yes, but the recent protests don't bring the numbers.

it's pretty clear from the various pictures over recent days that protesters struggle to get people together.

that's because protesters don't pay the redshirt base to make up the numbers, so the protests will be easily controlled by the police.

'struggle to get numbers together " ? I guess you can't count, there were  many thousand for 3 days

Exactly, it disenfranchised those workers needing to go home, or for those  families that had gone out to shop earlier in the day.  There will be those on this forum that blame the protestors for the actions of the Government, but you can only blame the Government for being heavy handed and making stupid decisions that disenfranchise the entire community of the Greater Metropolitan Bangkok area,

PPTV 36 News is showing a mass amount of protestors and people on Sukhumvit now.  They just keep streaming in to the area.  Taking Mass transit out of the equation does not seem to have worked.  Now there is another large group down in the Bang Na area.

  • Popular Post

Probably done it so they can blame the protesters- had to close for national security, when we all know it was to stop more protesters arriving

Did not stop them at all now did it.  Wrong Move Mr. Chan Ocha, and party.  Now you have pushed even more folks over to the other side.

His biggest wrong move was in banning the future forward party and it's leader stripping millions of Thais, many young ones, of their vote, that was idiotic.

Thanks rumak but I'm having too much fun watching the protesting students outsmarting the dinosaurs. If the protesters keep taking the non violence approach they may achieve what Gandhi did.

there aren't many people in your picture.

so far the protests have remained relatively low in numbers, if compared to 2010 where not just some intersections but whole streets were completely packed.

I guess currently the numbers remain well below 100.000

The scenes can be seen on some mediums. It is nothing like the news it's war on the streets. The streets are calling for change. You only have to see that watch lovers mug to realise they are s-hit-ting themselves as these demos are the main reason for closure and they are not stopping anytime soon.

Can't remember any BTS station was closed 2013/14 when Sutheps mob terrorized the city over months. I remember how I could use BTS Sala Daeng when they blocked Silom road for weeks.

Double standards, as usual.

They need greater numbers to achieve their goal.

More than 100,000? They'll get that tonight.

Wonder what next move will be? Given that eveything tried so far has failed pretty miserably.

You need to get some glasses mate, or your just being sarcastic with your comments.  This mass protest is now sweeping to all the different parts and cities within Thailand.  Only a matter of time that a curfew will be in place I fear, and checkpoints staffed by the military as in 2014, but it will not deter the protestors as they have social media at there disposal and unless the Government puts the whole country in a black out, pop up events will sweep all over.

Failed by the protestors? or do you mean the Government?

In just 3 days, Thailand will be welcoming all their 120 Chinese friends (if it ever happens).

Protests on Tuesday?

Interesting times ahead.

It was a rational response, if you needed to vent without it being in the open.  My feelings never get hurt unlike some whose feathers get ruffled, sort of like the Government right now...lol

Scene at Lad Prao. No trucks, few speakers, but the crowd is staying for now. Police with water cannon just down the road.
