I certainly would' not trust the hotel to always clean the rooms effectively after every negative case moved out. Perhaps they would after a positive case, but who knows. In any case I'd pack a can of disinfectant and spray the room from top to bottom. After all hotels feed the hospitals with patients don't they.

Not sure your post is relevant, but UK folk are understandably annoyed at people coming in willy nilly having babies etc at their expense. Would personally give Thailand a wide berth until they man up, produce figures and stop forcing people into boxes. Every country everywhere is well infected, NOBODY is special, there is no us and them. Go down that road and you end up isolated and walking on eggshells. Next, they'll be saying there's no influenza there.

It is exactly the same thing, and this is not an anti Brit thing at all. Its just that you guys are vocal about this. Same like you.

 

Brits (and others) dont want to pay for healthcare of others. Thais don't either. Thais don't know that foreigners have this insurance. All this minister is doing is making sure that Thais know that foreigners pay for themselves. Just as xenofobic as in the UK. I don't consider it xenofobic (not from Brits not from Thais) to want that non Thais dont get free healthcare at the expense of Thais. 

 

This only defuses the situation nothing more. It tells them that foreigners pay for themselves.

That would then be you unfortunately.  I talked to my insurance agent in the US, and messaged my agent here in Thailand.  Waiting on the agent here with PCH, but the US based insurance will only pay if you are undergoing actual treatment. Essentially that means that if have been placed into a hospital isolation ward for being just Asymptomatic your insurance will not pay one dime because you are not being treated.  Waiting to hear back from PCH as to whether the policy I have would cover being placed into Isolation.

About 3 weeks ago I went to government hospital to see a urologist. As foreigner I paid a total of 53 Baht.

 

I'm sure they are still organizing parties from that windfall as we speak

Agree that is not enough - get full Medical Insurance not just a cut down policy to appease the authorities

The UK government announced that everybody, including fireigners, infected with covid 19 will have free treatment stating that this even included illegal immigrants. Thais should know this too. 

You wonder why....

any body would bother to put up with the stringent financial and other regulations, coming here to have a holiday after a 14 day or 30 day quarantine stay in a BKK hotel!

So essentially Thailand is Sweden except there is no testing to speak of outside of quarantine facilities. 
So this is what untreated, unaddressed SARS-Cov-2 in the wild looks like.  People getting sick and hospitalized, some dying of the things that people normally die from with the death certificates accurately detailing the causes of death - as opposed to testing the bodies for SARS-Cov-2 and if positive listing the death as caused by Covid.
So Thailand is a reflection of reality. 

"Just you wait!  Just you wait!  The bodies will be stacking up in the street.  Then you'll be sorry!!!'

I don't know if it's enough but what if they reach the 100.000 costs...will they drive your bed onto the parking lot and say goodbye if you can't pay more?

 

I do have an healthcare insurance which covers for much more than 100.000$ but it won't cover the covid flue which is ridiculous since covid is a flue...not a pandemic.

Yes i asked my extended travel insurance and they said i was not covered for covid...i didn't ask my normal healthcare insurance though but i think it doesn't cover in Thailand...not sure though but that's why all Europeans left Thailand when covid broke out.
