A truck carrying rice landed in a canal in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Phimai district on Tuesday night because the driver was not able to see the road clearly.

Police rescued the driver from the canal and sent him to Phimai hospital for treatment.

Initial investigation showed that the truck was transporting newly harvested rice to a mill.

Even though the vehicle was dragged out of the water safely, more than one tonne of rice ended up falling into the canal. The driver has apparently made a compensation deal with the farmer.

What...he couldn't see the road....or he just couldn't see?....Many drivers have the latter and either don't realise it, or won't spend money for spectacles.....

The Land Transportation Office driving license test includes a color blindness test but not a visual acuity test.  I guess they assume you can see beyond the end of your nose if you can correctly guess the colors of the spots they point to.  I would never be surprised at just how poorly some Thai drivers can see.

Was he Nite Blind or bad eyes .Shouldn't be driving than or shouldn't have a License.

He shouldn’t have been allowed to drive...

bad driving lead to the incident and lack of smarts lead him to driving vs hiring someone to drive for his own known deficiency...

life is unfair....live with it
