A former policeman, 46, has been hospitalised with injuries after being shot on Friday in Chumphon province.

He was shot on his way home after exercising at a local stadium.

Police from Muang Chumphon found Tharak Boonprasert, a former policeman, lying unconscious and bleeding heavily in front of Saard Paderm Wittaya School in Muang district.

He had two wounds on his body and chin and was later sent to Chumphon Khet Udomsak Hospital.

Preliminary inquiries revealed visited that the shooter was in a black pickup truck, which reportedly cornered Tharak’s car before the gunfire. Police are investigating the motive for the crime.
